For Counselors: Register and Unregister Students for Visits and Office Hours

Counselors can now register students for visits and office hours, and remove students who no longer plan to attend. Students no longer have to self-register for their attendance to count.

Use this when a student tells you they plan to attend but hasn't registered in Scoir, or when a registered student changes plans. Keeping the list current gives you and the visiting college an accurate headcount.

Before you start

  • Who can do this: High school counselors and staff who manage visits in Scoir.
  • Which students you can add: Only currently enrolled students who have registered their Scoir account.
  • Registration limits don't apply to you: You can add students beyond the visit's registration limit, so there's no need to change the limit first.
  • Students are notified: Each student you add or remove gets an in-app notification and an email.

Registering and unregistering students for a visit or office hours

These steps work the same way for visits and office hours, from either the calendar view or the list view.

  1. Go to Visits and open the calendar or list view.
  2. Select the visit or office hours session to open its details.
  3. In the Registered Students section, click Manage to open the student list. If no one has registered yet, you'll see an empty list with the option to add students.
  4. Search for a student by name and select them to add to the list. You can add more than one student at a time.
  5. Click the trash can next to the student's name to remove them.
  6. Click Save Changes to confirm.

Notifications

Students get an in-app notification and an email whenever you register or unregister them. The email includes the event details.
