For Colleges: Guidelines for college profile header photos

Customer Support Updated by Customer Support

In most situations that your college name is displayed, the crest/logo will be displayed along with it.

An updated crest/logo for your college can be provided via email to support@scoir.com.

The image should follow these guidelines:

  • The image format must be PNG
  • The image must be square
  • The image should not be larger than 320x320 pixels and no smaller than 80x80

Examples

Profile Image

Scoir allows you to customize the photo at the top of the college profile, as shown below.

An updated profile image can be provided via email to support@scoir.com. The image should follow these guidelines:

  • The image format must be PNG
  • The file size must be under 1 megabyte
  • The image should be at least 1232x300 pixels. If it is larger, the image will be either cropped by the Support team, or displayed centered in this available area. It is suggested to match the exact 1232x300 dimensions for more control over what is displayed.

We find that images of your campus are ideal for this area of the page. Some things to avoid when considering updates to your profile picture:

  • For data privacy reasons, we highly recommend avoiding identifiable student photos.
  • Do not create a collage. The image isn't actionable and doesn't have a way to provide context to the image. That type of image is better suited for content with copy, links or explanations.
  • The image should not contain text. Because of how it is displayed, text may be clipped or missing in some displays.

Example

Content Images

If your college is subscribed to Profile Content Creation, you can add additional imaging and content to your profile. Images used for this content should follow these guidelines:

  • The image type can be JPEG or PNG, though JPEG is suggested/preferred
  • The image needs to be square, though we allow you to crop the image during upload to meet this requirement
  • The image should be smaller than 2 megabytes. We will optimize the image when displayed as best we can.
  • The image should not be larger than 1200x1200 pixels. Higher quality will simply be wasted when we optimize for display.

Some things to avoid when creating images for content:

  • Avoid text; the image will be accompanied with a title and description, which are better at conveying messaging than the image itself
