For Colleges: Set up SFTP connection to receive documents from Scoir

Scoir supports the delivery of document batches via SFTP, and in this guide, we’ll walk you through how to set up the integration.

Actions in this guide require both the Admissions Operations and Account Administrator roles in Scoir. If you do not have a Scoir account, or are unsure if your account has the required roles, contact your college's Scoir Account Administrator or contact us.
Common App Integration for Scoir High Schools:

Starting with the 2025–26 application cycle, Scoir high schools have the option to use a new integration with Common App to deliver application materials.

• If a Scoir high school opts in, supporting documents for Common App applicants will be delivered directly by Common App.

• If a Scoir school does not opt in, or the student applies through another method, materials will continue to be delivered via Scoir.

You may notice changes in delivery volume depending on school participation, but Scoir will remain a trusted delivery source for many high schools.

Set Up Your SFTP Connection

To get started, go to the Documents tab in your Scoir account, then click on the SFTP Configuration tab.

Select Manual Setup.

Begin the three-step process to initiate your SFTP Integration with Scoir:

Step 1: Enter Server Location

  1. Enter the Hostname of your server and the Server Port Number
  2. If you have created a specific folder or file path in your Server for Scoir-delivered documents, enter this file path in the optional File Path field.
  3. Click Next

Step 2: Enter Server Credentials

You will need to create credentials in your server for our SFTP to use for document delivery access.

  1. Enter the Username you created for Scoir access in the Username field
  2. You will also need to create a Password or use a Public Key for our Scoir SFTP to access your server
    1. If you have created a Password, enter that password into the Password field, then click Save
    2. If you wish to use a Public Key, click the Generate a Fresh Key link. A public key will appear in a text field. Click the Clipboard icon next to the public key to copy it. Then, use this Public Key when setting up the Scoir SFTP access to your server
If you need to reset your SFTP configration at any time, or wish to start over, click Clear Credentials.

Step 3: Test Connection

Test the connection by clicking the Test Connection button.

If a successful connection is made, click Use Configuration to select this connection. Clicking Save & Close saves your details but does not select this setup for activation.

To test a batch of documents before enabling document delivery, email Scoir Support at support@scoir.com to request a test batch with student details.

Enable Automated Document Delivery

Once you’ve successfully set up a connection and selected a configuration, you can begin using your SFTP connection to automate document delivery by setting the Enable Scoir document delivery via SFTP toggle to Active.

Then, choose whether you would like your files created as individual PDFs for each document or together as a single PDF.

  • Individual PDF option - Each application supporting document will be delivered as its own individual PDF file.
  • Single PDF option - All application supporting documents in the document batch will be sent combined as individual pages within a single PDF file.

Scoir Document batches will now be delivered to your configured server via the SFTP connection. Document batches will still be available to download and review manually in Scoir as well.

If you are experiencing issues setting up your SFTP integration, please see our troubleshooting article here.
