Step 2: Connect Slate and Scoir

This step walks you through entering your Slate details in Scoir to set up the Easy Slate SFTP connection and turning on automated delivery for the data you want to receive.

This connection supports both application document delivery and Handraiser data delivery, a daily list of prospective students who have opted in to share their information with your institution.

Roles required:

  • Account Administrator role + Admissions Operations role — required for document delivery
  • Account Administrator role + Handraisers role — Required for Handraiser data delivery
If you do not have a Scoir account, or are unsure if your account has the required roles, contact your college's Scoir Account Administrator or contact us.

Set Up Your SFTP Connection

Already have a connection set up? If you already have an SFTP connection configured, skip to Turn on automated delivery below and enable the toggle for the additional data type.
  1. Log in to Scoir at app.scoir.com
  2. Go to the SFTP Configuration page. This page is used to manage delivery for both application documents and Handraiser data. Where you can access it from depends on your user roles:
    1. Documents > SFTP Configuration OR
    2. Handraisers > SFTP Configuration
  3. Once you're on the SFTP Configuration page, Select Easy Slate Setup
  1. Enter your Slate Username in the designated field and click Test Connection. Your Slate Username is the domain name associated with your Slate system. You can locate this in the address bar of your web browser when accessing Slate.

Example: If your URL is: https://apply.scoiru.edu/manage

    Your Slate Username is: apply.scoiru.edu
  1. If a successful connection is made, click Use Configuration to select this connection. Clicking Save & Close saves your details but does not select this setup for activation.
Scoir uses one SFTP connection for both document delivery and Handraiser data. You cannot use Easy Slate Setup for one and manual SFTP for the other. Editing an existing configuration will affect delivery for both data types.

Turn On Automated Delivery

Once your connection is set up, on the same SFTP Configuration page, enable the toggle(s) for the data you want to receive via SFTP. You will only see toggles for the data types your role has permission to manage:

  • Enable Scoir document delivery via SFTP: Turn on to receive application document batches automatically. Requires Admissions Operations role.
After enabling document delivery, email support@scoir.com to request a test document batch of documents and student details. You will need at least one batch before completing the mapping step.
  • Turn on Handraisers Data Integration: Enable to receive daily Handraiser CSV files automatically. Requires Handraisers role.
A data file will be sent shortly after you enable Handraiser data delivery. Subsequent files will then be delivered overnight.

Scoir will now send document batches and/or Handraiser data directly to your Slate instance. Document batches will also remain available in Scoir for manual download and review. The last step is to map your data in Slate — see below for next steps based on what you're setting up.

Next Steps

Go to the next step for the data type(s) you are setting up the connection for:

  • Document delivery: Before mapping, you'll need at least one document batch from Scoir. Email support@scoir.com to request a test batch of document and student data, then continue to Step 3: Map Scoir Application Documents in Slate once you've received it to complete your mapping.
  • Handraiser data delivery: You can either import a sample data file to get a head start on mapping, or wait for your first file to be delivered overnight. When you're ready to map, return to Handraisers Data Access and Delivery to complete your Handraiser setup.
