Document Portal Troubleshooting for School Officials and Supporters

Cristina Hernandez Updated by Cristina Hernandez

This article covers the most common issues people run into when using the Scoir document portal to send recommendations and application documents on behalf of students.

You do not have to use the Scoir portal. You can send documents directly to the college by email or another method. We recommend including the student’s name, email, and date of birth.

Issue 1: "I am stuck on the personal information screen, or I do not see any document requests"

If you open your link and get stuck on this screen, with no document requests and nowhere to upload, it usually means something doesn’t match on the student’s side.

This can happen if the student removed you as their school official or used a different email when adding you.

To fix this, reach out to the student to confirm. If they removed you, they can add you again if they still want you to send documents on their behalf. If the email is incorrect, they’ll need to remove you and add you again with the correct one.

Once they do, you’ll receive a new email with a fresh link to access the portal.

If you can’t find your invitation email, or your link shows an “Authentication Error” saying it has expired (see example below), you can request a new one at any time.

Go to app.scoir.com/app/supporter  and enter the same email the student used when they added you. A new link will be sent to your inbox right away.

Be sure to use the exact same email address. If you’re not sure which one the student used, check with them first. If they entered the wrong email, they’ll need to remove you and add you again with the correct one.

Issue 3: "I need to replace a document I already sent"

Once a document has been sent through the Scoir portal, you cannot remove it. The option to discard will not be available.

If it hasn’t been sent yet, you can remove it from your portal before submitting.

If you already sent the wrong document, reach out to the college’s admissions office directly. Let them know what happened and send the correct version. Be sure to include the student’s name, email, and date of birth so they can match it to the application.

As a reminder, you can always send documents directly to the college instead of using the Scoir portal.
