Transfer & Non-Scoir Students: My recommender or school official can’t access their submission link

For: transfer applicants, international students, and students whose high school doesn’t use Scoir

If your recommender or school official is having trouble with their link to submit documents or recommendations, there are some steps they can take to try to fix this. This article covers the most common situations.

You can share these steps directly with your recommender so they can follow them and generate a new link.

Please work through the steps below before reaching out to our Support team. Scoir Support cannot reset or resend links. Your recommender will need to follow the steps below to get a new one.

If your recommender clicks their link and sees an Authentication Error (like the screenshot below), the link has expired and they will need to request a new one.

Your recommender/school official should complete the following steps:

  1. (Optional) They can delete any previous emails from Scoir related to this request so they do not accidentally use an expired link.
  2. They should click the "Request New Link" button in their original email. If that does not work, they can go directly to app.scoir.com/app/supporter
  3. They will need to enter the same email address you used when adding them in Scoir and click Send Log In Link. They will receive a new email with a fresh link to their submission portal.
The email address must match exactly. Your recommender needs to enter the same address you used when you added them in Scoir.

If your recommender or school official never received a submission link from Scoir, work through the following steps:

  • Ask your recommender to check spam or junk folders. Scoir emails are sent from "automated@scoir.com" and may be filtered by school or university email systems.
  • Confirm the email address is correct. Double-check the exact address you entered in Scoir for your recommender. A small typo can prevent the email from being delivered.
  • If the email address is incorrect, delete and re-add your recommender. Go to your Docs & Recs page, delete your recommender, and create a new request to add them again using the correct email address. This will send them a new email with a fresh link.
  • If the steps above do not work, have your recommender request a new link directly. Once the address is confirmed as correct, share app.scoir.com/app/supporter with your recommender. They must enter the same email address you used to send the request and click Send Log In Link to receive a new email.

Still having trouble or a deadline is close?

If the steps above have not resolved the issue, you still have a couple of options depending on your timeline.

If a deadline is close, your recommender does not need to submit recommendations or documents through Scoir. They can send them directly to the college. We recommend checking the college’s admissions website for their preferred submission method and instructions.

If you need additional help, you can also contact Scoir Support. When you reach out, include:

  • Your name
  • Your recommender/school official’s name and the exact email address you entered in Scoir
  • A description of what your recommender is seeing, including a screenshot if possible
