Inviting Parents/Guardians to Join Scoir

Once parents or guardians have been imported into Scoir, you can invite them to create an account and link to your school.

  1. Start by selecting Students from the left navigation. When the page opens, click the Parents tab at the top to view your parent roster.
  2. From there, you can use the filters to narrow the list — for example, by class year — so you’re only inviting the parents you need.
  3. Select the parents you’d like to invite. You can check individual names or use the checkbox in the top row to select everyone in the list at once.

    After at least one parent is selected, a toolbar will appear above the roster. From that toolbar, click the Invite Parents icon.
  1. A dialog box will open showing who will (and won’t) receive an invitation. Here’s how to read it:
    1. A red X means the parent already has a Scoir account and is linked to your school, so no invite will be sent.
    2. A green X means the parent has a Scoir account but isn’t linked to your school yet. They’ll receive an invite to connect.
    3. Circular arrows mean the parent was invited before but hasn’t registered yet. Sending the invite again will re-send the email.
    If a parent already has a Scoir account and is linked to your school, they won’t receive another invitation. This is expected behavior, and no action is needed.
  1. Once everything looks good, click Invite to send the emails.
  2. After the invitations are sent, you’ll see a notification summarizing how many invites were sent and whether there were any issues. If something didn’t go through, open the notification to review the details or error messages or contact our Support team for help troubleshooting.

  1. Parents will receive an email letting them know their student’s high school is using Scoir, along with a link to create or complete their account.
    Keep in mind that invitation emails expire after 7 days, so parents who don’t register in time will need to be re-invited.

Invite Parents Marked “Pending Review”

If a parent is marked as Registered (Pending Review), it means they were added by the student and are currently linked only to the student, not the high school.

For Counselors: Troubleshooting Parent Linking Issues

To link these parents in bulk, go to the Parents tab and use filters to select Pending for Roster Status. Be sure to click Apply Filters.

Once the list is filtered, select the parents you want to link. After at least one parent is selected, the toolbar will appear above the roster. Click the Invite Parents icon to proceed.

Inviting pending parents links them to your school. Parents who already have a Scoir account will be linked without receiving an email. Parents who haven’t registered yet will receive an invitation to create their account.
